Life Is Rough

Taken with Android

To start off this Alaska sunset photo series I selected a photo taken  last summer by my brother Paul while he was fishing. Most of this photo series will be photos by paul. He is always on some outdoor adventure. A lot of his photo's will be taken from his cell phone, an Android. Unless his phone gets lost overboard, he is always losing keys, cameras and cell phones.

You will notice throughout this series I'm a little obsessed with two things rust and turquoise and if I can get this color combinations in a photo it makes it that much better. This photo of SLUGS is one of my favorite because of the turquoise and rust combo.

iPhone Fine Art Photography "What Is Art?"

Photography is one of my passions. I went to art school for commercial photography, but I hate carrying around my camera and I own five of them. Two point and shoots, 35mm Nikon my parents purchased me for my first photography class in high school, 35mm digital cannon and my favorite of them all but I hardly ever get to use medium format hasselblad. I have found myself taking a lot of photos with my iPhone because it is always with me. I’m on a mission to prove that the camera doesn’t make the photographer your eye and the way you see the world does. This blog post is the start of my iPhone photo series. I did a little Google search and found a iPhone photography book “The Best Camera Is The One That's With You: iPhone Photography” by Chase Jarvis.

To start this series off here is the photo I talked about in my Etsy feature seller interview.

Where does your inspiration come from?

I find inspiration in everything I do, and a touch of daydreaming is always helpful. I just recently took a photo of a little piece of purple tape I had walked by for days on my deck. It had little rain drops on it and I thought it looked beautiful. Jacob saw me taking a picture of the ground and looked at me like I was crazy. Later I showed him the photo and he said he would have never noticed that piece of tape and thought it looked beautiful.
